EXPERIENCE

Swedish

It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Its benefits are rehabilitation for muscle injuries, increased flexibility, reduced stress, and an improved immune system.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massages use firm pressure and slow stroked to massage deep layers of muscle and fascia, which is the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles. The deep tissue massage breaks up scar tissue, makes movement easier, and reduces arthritis symptoms.

Lomi Lomi

Lomi-lomi is a word in the Hawaiian and Samoan languages. Lomi means “to knead, to rub, or soothe” Massage therapists move in long flowing motions rather than working on one body part at a time. Lomi-lomi is known to help stop muscle spasms and strokes directed away from the heart release tension.

Prenatal Massage

A prenatal massage is a full body massage performed by a certified prenatal massage therapist that is similar to a Swedish massage (like what you might experience at a spa) except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. This massage helps with reducing swelling and pain. It also helps with sleep and prepares your body for labor and birth.

CLINICAL

Medical Massage

Is the application of a specific treatment targeted to a problem, a patient presents with a diagnosis. The treatment is administrated after a through assessment/ evaluation by the medical massage therapist with outcomes being the basis for the treatment. There is no single technique that is medical massage. It is taking and combining to bring about specific outcomes. Medical Massage is also known as clinical or treatment massage. The main difference is that clinical and treatment massages do not require a prescription.

Myofascial

Myofascial release is an alternative medicine therapy claimed to be useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles. This pressure is meant to release the restriction in the connective tissue so that you have greater range of motion and less pain.

Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage is a type of massage based on the hypothesis that it will encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. It’s a gentle form of massage used to relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by lymphedema.

Muscle Resistance

The MRT may also be referred to as a resisted isometric contraction, or simply as muscle testing. The primary purpose of this procedure is to investigate the nature of problems with muscles and tendons, those tissues that are actively involved in the contraction process. A MRT is performed by having the client attempt to engage in a muscle contraction against some resistance (usually offered by the practitioner).

TECHNIQUES

Sport Massage

Sports massage is proven to release and reduce tension in muscles, improve circulation and encourage the removal of waste products such as lactic acid during high intensity activity and can help to relax the body. All of this helps promote recovery and reduces the chance of muscle injury.

Cupping

Cupping is a form of massage therapy which decompresses soft tissues using vacuum suction, unlike other forms of massage that compresses soft tissues. During cupping, the cup gently sucks to your skin and lifts underlying soft tissue into the cup.
